In the Neolithic or Late Stone Age period and in the Copper Age, the cave was used as a burial ground and a shrine. Bats, the present occupants of Ajdovska jama, had used it as shelter and hunting grounds for at least 5000 years already, according to some footwear, flashlights) and in small groups (up to 20 people at a time).<\/p><p>Visitors are expected to respect the space \u2013 nothing should be brought in, taken out, or damaged in any way. Parking directly in front of the cave is not allowed.<\/p><p>This is a temporary measure to ensure access to the cave, proposed by the Municipality of Kr\u0161ko, and agreed upon by both the Institute for Nature Conservation and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, until formal management is established.<\/p><p>If any vandalism is observed during this time, access to the cave may
